What happens when two great entrepreneurs think alike...

hipages and Bricks + Agent

As we step forward in our journey to transform the property maintenance industry, we’re excited to announce that we have hit a significant investment milestone today, accelerating our growth plans and helping us capture the huge opportunity we have ahead of us.

hipages Group, the creator of effortless solutions that help tradies streamline and grow their business and delight their customers, has invested $6.25million in Bricks+Agent.

The fit for Bricks+Agent is a natural one. hipages Group has a complementary business model, technology platform, growth aspirations, and entrepreneurial culture to our company. But this first step in our journey together opens both companies up to more than just financial investment.

Like Bricks+Agent, and with CEO and Founder, Roby Sharon-Zipser at its helm, hipages Group is inspired and driven by  its purpose of transforming the trade industry. This is why it is a trusted partner to tradies and homeowners via its  technology-enabled platforms, including Australia’s largest online tradie marketplace, hipages.

Roby and his team have taken hipages to great heights, securing over 31,000 tradie business members and over three million users on the platform. He has created the perfect formula with his team to enable tradies and homeowners to connect effortlessly. In FY21 alone, there were more than 1.5 million home improvement jobs posted on hipages. That’s one job posted on average every 20 seconds.

This investment from hipages Group opens up future opportunities for Bricks+Agent to share hipages’ experience of the tradie economy and broaden our footprint in the industry. This includes a roadmap that we hope will deliver cross-platform access to more than double the volume of tradies available to our property managers.  This is a huge step forward in Bricks+Agent’s vision to completely transform the property maintenance industry.

Technology also plays a key role in creating effortless solutions across both companies. hipages has a proprietary algorithm to match tradies with consumers in local areas using millions of data points, giving it a competitive advantage as it creates an optimal experience for tradies and consumers.

The insights that we will gain from each other in cross-platform technology learning will allow us to amplify how Bricks+Agent rolls out its unique technologies to more tradies, property managers, and renters. This includes our features such as omnichannel and multi-language communication, automated preventative and compliance maintenance, and on-demand tradie mapping.

Finally, and arguably one of the most important synergies between both companies is that hipages Group and Bricks+Agent are data-powerhouses in the tradie industry, mapping the key movements and needs of Australians in property improvement and maintenance. This partnership widens the data landscape for us both, allowing us to pave the best way forward for our tradies, property managers, homeowners, and renters.

Together, we have an opportunity to deliver the most optimum experience for our customers. Bring it on.

Rafael Niesten

Written by Rafael Niesten

In his early 20s, Perth local Rafael Niesten, won a scholarship to study in Canada, with that came the opportunity to volunteer at a local radio station. That spawned his entrepreneurial streak, returning to Perth in 2001 he set up community radio Groove FM. More by luck than design, they became successful, too successful as they took a significant chunk of the Perth Market. This sent up the red flag with his commercial competitors who saw to it that he came before the Australian Broadcasting Authority and on technicalities such as the number of volunteers he was forced to move on. He received the citizen of the year award for Western Australia (youth) and was a finalist in the Australian of the year awards (Youth). Falling on his sword he turned to running small and large scale events, all the while buying, renovating and selling properties. Buying and selling land and renovated houses provided a grounding in the property industry. He founded a cloud based medical grade voice recognition company, followed by co founding the first true cloud application for private practice in the health sector. He successfully exited these ventures at the end of 2016 and began building Bricks+Agent.
