What Is The Cost Of A Patio Cover?

patio-cover.jpg

Sometimes a patio may be comfortable only in the morning or in the afternoon when it is shady. Using it when it is rainy might not be possible too if you don’t have a patio cover. You might need to include a patio cover to enjoy using it. As much as patio roof cost may seem costly, the cost of installing it is not that expensive.

What is a patio cover?

This is any cover on top of the patio to protect it. Its size can be as large as a carport or as small as a patio awning. Back then, people used to improvise patio covers although they called them other names. You can now find patio covers easily as they come in an easy-to-assemble kit form. They come in different modern materials, and you can find one that suits your home design and budget too.

What are the types of patio covers?

You can either attach patio cover in your home, leave them to be freestanding or semi-attach them. The patio covers have light-weight polycarbonate sheeting and can cover up to one metre deep.

The width depends on how you would like it to be attached to your home. If you need more cover on your patio, one side of the cover can be connected to your home and can support a depth of 3 metres Zincalume, colorbond or polycarbonate roof. Some cantilevered patio covers contain two or three posts and can still have a thickness of 3 metres.

Patio covers are very affordable. One metre of aluminum and polycarbonate patio owning can’t cost anything more than $100. A colorbond patio cover kit with 6 metre width, 3 metre deep and a height of 3 metres is under $900. Zincalume roofing costs less.

Complex and gable roof designs are all available. While they come in kit form, you are still free to inquire from your patio cover supplier for installation rates. Patio builders can give you quotes if you are after originality, complete patio or natural materials.

You can check our Patio Design Ideas for more information. You can get many photos from the gallery starting from cleaver shade sail patio covers, classroom aluminum patio covers, and stylishly curved polycarbonate covers. You don’t have to spend another summer indoors due to lack of a patio cover. You should spend your summer outdoors and enjoy every bit of it.

The prices in this article should only be used as a guide as they may vary locally and are subject to market forces.

Rafael Niesten

Written by Rafael Niesten

In his early 20s, Perth local Rafael Niesten, won a scholarship to study in Canada, with that came the opportunity to volunteer at a local radio station. That spawned his entrepreneurial streak, returning to Perth in 2001 he set up community radio Groove FM. More by luck than design, they became successful, too successful as they took a significant chunk of the Perth Market. This sent up the red flag with his commercial competitors who saw to it that he came before the Australian Broadcasting Authority and on technicalities such as the number of volunteers he was forced to move on. He received the citizen of the year award for Western Australia (youth) and was a finalist in the Australian of the year awards (Youth). Falling on his sword he turned to running small and large scale events, all the while buying, renovating and selling properties. Buying and selling land and renovated houses provided a grounding in the property industry. He founded a cloud based medical grade voice recognition company, followed by co founding the first true cloud application for private practice in the health sector. He successfully exited these ventures at the end of 2016 and began building Bricks+Agent.
