Misconceptions about Cloud-based Property Management Software

 cloud

Cloud-based property management software is considered one of the most popular and powerful tools for many real estate agencies. But while it is quite popular among many businesses, the software can still be quite overwhelming and mysterious to many, which fuels many myths about it.

They are hard to access

Ideally, the cloud is an internet that lets you store and access data with ease. But, since it is intangible and people don’t know where it is and how it can be used, they consider them hard to access.

However, storing data on the cloud is smart and hassle-free. It is quite flexible and makes it easy for a business to collaborate with other software’s online. Besides, you can easily access, locate or import files eliminating the need of rummaging physical drawers. Just make sure that you have a secure internet connection, and you can access data with ease from anywhere.

Storing data on the cloud isn't secure

Well, it’s a myth! Storing data online is not only vulnerable to human-made and physical disasters, but is also safe from online thefts and viruses. Cloud hosting features reliable servers that are regularly maintained and optimised to safeguard sensitive data.

Also, the cloud property management software will encrypt the data and store it digitally behind secure gateways, and authentic firewalls are making it more secure.

Cloud-based property management software is only for big businesses

IT solutions and professionals take a lot in the name of security, but the cloud storage will keep everything protected without paying much. It works best for small businesses, as it is affordable and provides easy access. It is also perfect for the startups as it gives all resources that a company requires. So, whether you have a small business or you are running a big IT company,  cloud storage is what you need to keep your private data secure.

Property management software's are different from other cloud software

While it’s a quite common myth, it is not true! Traditional property management software was more prone to security patches, integration issues, has low speed and increased maintenance cost. However, current cloud property management software is safe and is less vulnerable to risks.

It is expensive

Cloud property management is one of the most popular methods to use the different software’s over a browser. However, people think that keeping up with the hardware, storage, licencing, security and the cost of software is expensive.

However, cloud software will reduce the upfront cost by storing the data digitally thereby reducing the need for having physical storage. Further, it will host all required software that your company need. This will minimise IT expenses, expand scalability and will also offer great resources for your organisation.

So, now that you know all positive features of cloud-based software, next time you think of storing secure data, consider having a cloud PMS over a traditional hosting system!

Having spent over 12 years in the real estate industry covering all facets from residential through to commercial, established and off plan properties and sub-divisions, he has an in depth knowledge of the industry. Stepping out of the industry four years ago and moving interstate to expand a frozen yoghurt chain that has gone from 1 to 4 stores in the time he has been involved. This was recently sold to Made Group. Real estate has always been in his blood and it was a natural fit to start Bricks + Agent given the amount of insight he has into the industry as a whole. Having seen how all different forms of traditional marketing was used to the direction that it is now heading today, we think we have come up with a truly unique proposition that fits into the current state of the property maintenance market.
